Growing up when my mom would tell my dad how much money she had saved he always wanted to see the money she had saved him. I always thought that was silly because obviously we had spent that money on something else!
Now that I am married, I am often faced with the same question from my husband and I can't help but laugh. However as he sits and plays with his latest gadget that I got on sale he seems to appreciate my knack for finding a bargain.
I am a stay at home mom of 2, and I figure if my husband is willing to work hard all day long to earn money, I owe it to him to do my best to spend it wisely and find the best deals. Being at home gives me the freedom to research purchases, look for sales, cut coupons and comparison shop. Now sometimes a good deal might tempt me to buy something extravagant but at least I always have my defense of "It was on sale!"
